FELTON, Del. - Delaware State Police says they are looking for a man who committed an attempted robbery in Felton Tuesday morning.
According to police, shortly before 9 a.m., a white man entered the South Dupont Highway Valero Shore Stop with a shirt wrapped around his head. Troopers say the man approached the cashier from behind the counter with a knife, demanding that the register be opened.
She refused, say police, which led to the man attempting to take the whole register-- which he was unable to do so. Troopers say the man then ran south from the business.
According to police, the victim was not hurt and nothing was stolen.
Police describe the man as a white mail, between 6 feet and 6' 2" tall, weighing around 210-250 pounds. Troopers say surveillance video and images are not yet available.
Police say the Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating the attempted robbery. Detectives are asking for anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective J. Sydnor by calling 302-698-8540. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
