Sidewalk Sale kicks off in downtown Rehoboth Beach this weekend

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - The annual Sidewalk Sale kicked off in downtown Rehoboth Beach this weekend. Sidewalk sale is where businesses set up tables for people to shop outside for the end of summer bargains.

Melissa Stone is the manager at Four Sisters Jewelry and she said they have been participating in this event for 10 years and it never gets old.

"We get to see locals and a lot of faces that you don't see always," Stone said. "They come back into town for the weekend and it's nice."

For some who are just visiting town, the outdoor shopping is something different to enjoy. Ella Rishko has been shopping the Sidewalk Sale since she was a kid and she said it's a great event for locals.

"We get to do some back to school shopping, shop fall clothes," Rishko said. "There's some really great summer clothes on sale also, it's like the best holiday ever."

Stone said whether you want jewelry, clothes, even stuff for your dog, this event is the place to be.

"The Sidewalk sale is like a flea market or a yard sale, one person's junk is another person's treasure," Stone said. "Even though we don't have junk, our treasure is your treasure."

Many business owners said the Sidewalk Sale isn't just good for getting rid of things but introducing people to their businesses. The Sidewalk Sale will be taking place in Rehoboth Beach until 5 p.m. on Sunday.Â
