Stephen Decatur wins Maryland high school football state championship

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Stephen Decatur beat Huntingtown High School 21 to 13 to win the school's first state football championship. The schools faced off in the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association 2A game Thursday night at the Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

Decatur started with an early lead, with Brycen Coleman scoring a rushing touchdown on the fifth play. Trybe Wise caught a pass in the second quarter to take Decatur into halftime 14-0.

Huntingtown fought back in the second half, with Landon Cawley scoring a touchdown followed shortly by another from Coleman. The fourth quarter's lone touchdown went to Huntingtown courtesy of Evan Kuntz, though the extra point was blocked.
