GEORGETOWN, Del. - The Sussex Conservation District, which is the delegated authority for Delaware Sediment and Stormwater Regulations in Sussex County, is now accepting entries for the 2024 Conservation Stewardship Award.
According to the district, the award recognizes organizations in eight categories that have exceeded regulations to prepare, protect and preserve sensitive natural resources in the county.
Entries will be accepted in the following categories:
- Certified construction reviewer
- Design team
- Developer
- Green conservation
- Home builder
- Homeowner association
- Project manager
- Site contractor
“We hope to catalyze future voluntary conservation and encourage residents to choose conservation-focused organizations,” said Jessica Watson, sediment and stormwater program manager at SCD. “This is the third annual event, and we were overwhelmed with the positive feedback since the inaugural event was held in 2022. We've added new categories for 2024 and are excited to see what this year brings.”
The deadline to enter is Friday, Dec. 15. The district says a panel of judges will evaluate entries and winners will be announced in early January 2024.
