Corporal Hilliard was killed in the line of duty on June 12, 2022.

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. — The Wicomico County community is remembering the late Corporal Glenn Hilliard. 

Thursday, June 12, 2025 marks three years since Corporal Hilliard was killed in the line of duty on June 12, 2022.

In a statement posted to Facebook, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office said, “Three years have passed, Glenn, and your memory is still strong in our hearts and minds. We will never forget your smile, your kindness, your sense of humor, and your selfless dedication to law enforcement.” 

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office went on to say, “Glenn was a man who led by example, both in uniform and at home. His dedication to his family and his service will forever be remembered and deeply missed.”

In the past, events and ceremonies have been held to honor the late Corporal Hilliard. In 2022, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office and the Hilliard family held a ceremony at the at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 111. In 2023, a sign on Route 611 was created that dedicates a four-mile stretch of the road to fallen Corporal Hilliard.
