BRIDGEVILLE, Del. - Before a tornado left one dead and destroyed homes Saturday evening, teenagers in Sussex County were preparing for prom.
Viewer Emily McLaughlin was taking photos of her son, Phillip, and his girlfriend, Zoey, at Heritage Shores in Bridgeville for Sussex Academy's prom when storm clouds in the distance began to form a funnel. The tornado later touched down, causing damage to homes, farm equipment, and more throughout the region.
Despite the storms, prom night continued.
