CAMBRIDGE, Md.— A fire that started from burning trash spread to a home in Cambridge on Wednesday afternoon, causing an estimated $50,000 in damage, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The fire broke out around 3:56 p.m. at a two-story home located at 2151 Hudson Road. No one was hurt from the fire, said officials.

Investigators said the fire began outside the home after the occupants attempted to burn trash behind the house. The flames spread to the outside of the house, damaging the building.

Roughly 40 firefighters responded to the scene and were able to bring the fire under control within 20 minutes. The house suffered an estimated $40,000 in damage, with another $10,000 in losses to its contents.
