DOVER, Del. - Delaware State Police have arrested two Dover men in connection with the death of a 77-year-old woman. According to Delaware State Police, 38-year-old Brandon Holland and 43-year-old Edward Jobes have been arrested.
Police say on March 20, troopers responded to a home on the 1300 block of Wyoming Mill Road for a welfare check. As police arrived, Delaware State Police say they found the victim, 77-year-old Lynda Carson-Fizer, deceased with physical injuries.
During the investigation, police say detectives discovered an acquaintance of the victim, identified as Brandon Holland, had assaulted the 77-year-old during an argument on March 17. Troopers say following the assault, Holland, and a second suspect, which police identified as Edward Jobes, fled from the home.
Delaware State Police say Holland was charged with second-degree murder and criminal contempt, while Jobes was charged with second-degree murder. Both suspects were arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, with Holland held on a $1,001,000 cash bond and Jobes on a $1,000,000 cash bond.
