Just over three hours later, a second fire broke out about 20 yards away. Dispatched at 7:36 a.m., it involved another manufactured home, which was also destroyed.

MILTON, Del. - Two manufactured homes were destroyed in separate fires early Tuesday morning near Forest Road in Milton, and investigators are still determining a cause.

According to the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, the first fire was initially reported as a brush fire at 4:14 a.m. on June 3 near 20386 Forest Road. However, responders arrived to find a manufactured home fully involved, along with a nearby car that also caught fire.

Just over three hours later, a second fire broke out about 20 yards away. Dispatched at 7:36 a.m., it involved another manufactured home, which was also destroyed.

Both house fires were considered a total loss and the cause of both fires remains under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The Milton Fire Department was the lead responder for both incidents. They were assisted by units from Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, Georgetown Fire Company, Lewes Fire Department, and Millsboro Fire Company (which responded to the second fire). No injuries have been reported.
