FENWICK ISLAND, Del. - All the people hurt after a car crashed into a Fenwick Island store on Friday are recovering, according to the town.
The Roxana Fire company says around 11 a.m. Friday first responders were alerted about the crash at sports and swimwear store Southern Exposure on 1003 Coastal Highway. One car crashed into the building and caused extensive damage, submersion, and injured multiple people.
According to a release from the town of Fenwick Island, the driver was a 64-year-old woman. She hit two other women, one who was pinned under the car and the other was pushed back by the car. Both ladies were taken to the hospital. According to the town, store owner Tim Collins says both women are now recovering from their injuries.
"Owner Tim Collins is very appreciative of all the assistance that was provided and the support he and his family received from the community and responding agencies," the town writes.
The crash caused structural damage to Southern Exposure, but the town says it is expected to be secured and will reopen as soon as safely possible. Multiple police and fire companies responded to the call.Â
