OCEAN CITY, Md. - Nearly 1,000 pounds of fish donated during the White Marlin Open have been processed so far this week to help provide meals for people in need on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Catch-n-Carry, a fish processing service, said multiple boats and anglers participating in the White Marlin Open tournament have donated their catches. The organization had processed nearly 1,000 pounds of donated fish by day four of the six day tournament.

The fish is being distributed through local food pantries and organizations, including Diakonia, area churches and the Maryland Food Bank. Catch-n-Carry said the donations provide families with a high-quality source of protein.

Catch-n-Carry thanked the anglers who donated, "A huge thank you to every angler who chose to donate their catch. Your generosity is making a real difference in our community."
