DELAWARE - As temperatures continue to decrease, the Delaware Department of Agriculture wants to remind farmers that manure and fertilizer application is banned on frozen or snow-covered ground.
The department says Delaware's winter ban on manure and fertilizer application begins on Dec. 7 and will continue through Feb. 14, 2024.
According to the department, liming, free of nitrogen or phosphorus, is permitted.
