The Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company said they found one mare dead during the Sunday Northern Herd Roundup. With the roundup now complete, the rest of the stallions, mares and foals were safely brought into the north corral.

The Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce has released the official schedule and transportation plan for the 2026 Chincoteague Pony Swim, outlining a week of events including the annual pony swim, foal auction and carnival.

According to the Delaware State Fair, a plethora of exciting events including races, fireworks, concerts and sensory-friendly areas were in store for attendees. The fair celebrated its 106th annual celebration with a 6% increase in attendance compared to last year, hosting 322,000 guests.

Delaware State Fair, the annual summer event, is now officially open and consists of live performances from artists like Riley Green, CeCe Winans, and Blues Traveler. The event also includes a carnival consisting of fun rides, food, and a variety of different exhibits. 

Organizers of the Delaware State Fair have announced a new Sensory Inclusion Initiative to support guests with sensory sensitivities, including autism and PTSD. This comes after last year’s canceled “Sensory Friendly Afternoon,” which drew criticism from Autism Delaware for misrepresenting the group’s involvement.

Georgetown EMS is hosting a four-day event to raise funds for its operations, purchase a new ambulance, and benefit American Legion Post 8. The fundraiser comes just days after a financial review the agency among the area’s most financially vulnerable emergency service providers.
