According to the Delaware River and Bay Authority, Avelo has now carried more passengers through Wilmington Airport than any commercial airline in the airport's history.
Avelo will fly from Wilmington to Atlanta and Chicago starting early 2026.
Currently, a terminal expansion is underway which includes adding a second gate and TSA screening line, enlarging waiting areas, renovating restroom facilities and enhancing food and beverage offerings. Slated to be completed in September 2025, the DRBA anticipates welcoming even more passengers.
