Diners heading to Bethany Blues BBQ Pit and The Palace in Milford this week will be met with an unexpected sight and sound. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ “Hell on Wheels” truck will park outside both locations, broadcasting the recorded screams of pigs on their way to slaughter. The truck is a life-size display depicting pigs crammed into transport crates.

After Delaware State Fire Marshal John W. Rudd imposed a temporary statewide ban on fireworks due to severe drought conditions, animal advocacy group PETA is urging the state to take it further by making the ban permanent.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) sent a letter to Ocean City Mayor Richard Meehan offering to donate the Fish Empathy Quilt for the city to display to “counteract the violence of fishing and promote friendliness to fish instead.”
