The Town of Millsboro has declared a snow emergency starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, in advance of a winter storm expected to bring snow, ice and hazardous travel conditions to the area.

DelDOT crews have been working around the clock to keep Sussex County roads clear after a heavy snowstorm, with freezing temperatures expected to bring icy conditions in the coming days.
With a winter storm expected to sweep through the area, the City of Lewes has issued a snow emergency starting at midnight on Sunday, Jan. 6. Parking enforcement for snow emergency routes will also begin at that time.
The conditions were very cold causing some preparations to take place late last week by the Delaware Department of Transportation. Eighty plows were deployed today with 100 employees ready to go.
