The City of Salisbury Department of Water Works has begun a major infrastructure project to replace a raw water main that carries water from the city’s well field to its water treatment plant.

Trees at the intersection of Cave Neck and Hudson road have been cleared as part of a water main improvement project, according to the Delaware Department of Transportation.

Now that the replacement of the water main on the ocean block of Maryland Avenue has been completed, milling and paving on Maryland Avenue and 1st Street will begin.

Milford is upgrading its streets and utilities as part of the 2024 Streets and Utilities Rehabilitation Project.

In compliance with the EPA, the Lewes BPW has submitted an inventory of service lines connecting water mains to homes and businesses. Of the service lines in Lewes, 63 were identified as lead, 32 as galvanized, and around 1,800 remain “unknown.”

The Lewes Board of Public Works is gearing up for the construction of a new water main, with work set to begin in mid-October.

Seaford will shut off a water main on July 10, potentially causing discolored water. The city advises locals to limit water use and avoid doing laundry until the project is complete.

The Delaware Department of Transportation announces the closure of North Walnut Street/SR 20 between Route 113 and Buccaneer Boulevard starting on Monday, June 3 through Friday, June 7 for water main work.

The city says that water service will be temporarily interrupted starting around 6 p.m., affecting the area from Civic Avenue to Long Avenue.

Property owners in Milton turned out on Saturday and gave town officials the ability to borrow money for three key upgrades to the water system.

A referendum was approved for Milton to borrow money from the State of Delaware Drinking Water State Revolving Fund at an interest rate of 2% and a 20-year term.  608 people voted, 567 in favor and 41 against.
