DELMARVA-  A warm front lifting through Delmarva has ushered in summer-like temperatures this afternoon. Temperatures have soared into the 70s to near 80 degrees away from the beaches. Cooler 60s and 70s at the beaches. Winds are gusty, with peak gusts of at least 30 mph expected. Some gusts could reach 40 mph. Make sure to secure outdoor items.

Thursday night expect lots of clouds and mild conditions with lows only in the 60s.

SEVERE RISK

A boundary dropping south through Delaware Friday morning could trigger a few showers or thunderstorms. Gusty winds could accompany some storms, but chances are low at this point. The rest of Friday looks dry and a bit cooler with highs in the 60s and 70s.

The weekend could begin with a few showers and thunderstorms Saturday morning, otherwise a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures in the 70s.

COLD FRONT

Another surge of warmth is expected Sunday with lots of clouds, temperatures will warm into the 70s to near 80. A strong cold front will trigger showers and possible thunderstorms Sunday night into Monday morning. Some of the rain could be heavy.

Meteorologist

Meteorologist Bob Trihy joined CoastTV in 2023. He grew up in Great River on Long Island, N.Y. Bob caught the weather bug when he was around eight years old and tracked storms up and down the east coast. He witnessed some big ones, like the blizzard of 1978, as well as tropical systems.
