Meteorologist Bob Trihy joined CoastTV in 2023. He grew up in Great River on Long Island, N.Y. Bob is used to tracking storms up and down the east coast. He witnessed some big storms, like the blizzard of 1978, as well as some tropical systems.
DELAWARE- A Tornado Watch is in effect for Delaware and the eastern shore of Maryland until 9:00 PM this evening.
Conditions are favorable for tornadoes into the evening hours. Be weather aware and plan to take shelter in a sturdy structure if severe weather occurs.
All modes of severe weather are possible. The main threat is damaging straight line winds, but an isolated tornado is possible. Other threats include large hail and flash flooding.
The severe threat will decrease later this evening.
