DOVER, Del. - Delaware State Police are investigating an attempted robbery that happened Saturday afternoon at a smoke shop on Gateway South Boulevard.
Troopers say they responded to Smoke Beast, located at 220 Gateway South Boulevard, around 2:06 p.m. on April 12 after a report of an attempted robbery. According to investigators, a man initially entered the store earlier in the day, then returned, pointed a handgun at the employee and demanded merchandise.
Police say the employee refused to comply with the demands, and the man ran away without taking anything.
Troopers described the suspect as a light-skinned Black man wearing dark clothing, including a mask and gloves. They said he was last seen running north from the store.
The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit is continuing to investigate.
