On Sunday, July 6, officers took 18-year-old Nisiah Jeremiah Fletcher of Cambridge into custody in the 600 block of Greenwood Avenue. 

CAMBRIDGE, Md. - Cambridge police say they have arrested a second person in connection with the deadly shooting of a Seaford man in June on Camelia Street.

On Sunday, July 6, officers took 18-year-old Nisiah Jeremiah Fletcher of Cambridge into custody in the 600 block of Greenwood Avenue. According to the Cambridge Police Department, Fletcher was charged with multiple counts, including first-degree murder, armed robbery and firearm offenses. He was held without bond at the Dorchester County Department of Corrections.

The arrest stems from the June 8 shooting that killed 23-year-old Alyson Elien. Officers responding around 8:33 p.m. found Elien with a gunshot wound to the head. Despite efforts by first responders and medical staff at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Cambridge, Elien died from his injuries.

Investigators previously identified 15-year-old Jakai Wilson, also of Cambridge, as a primary accused shooter. On June 10, Wilson was arrested during a traffic stop on Feather Drive and charged as an adult with first-degree murder and other related counts. Police recovered a stolen Beretta 9mm handgun believed to have been used in the crime.

Fletcher is facing the following charges:

  • Murder first degree

  • Conspiracy to commit murder first degree

  • Murder second degree

  • Assault first degree

  • Assault second degree

  • Loaded handgun on person

  • Handgun on person

  • Firearm use in a violent felony

  • Possession of a firearm as a minor

  • Armed robbery

  • Robbery

  • Possession of a stolen regulated firearm

  • Altering physical evidence in a criminal proceeding
