DELAWARE - Comcast gave a $20,000 grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware to help kids learn digital skills and prepare for future jobs. The money will support the club’s “My Future” education program, which helps young people with learning and career development.

There are more than 40 Boys & Girls Club locations in Delaware, all working to help kids reach their full potential. Leaders at the organization thanked Comcast for the support, saying it will help students succeed in school and in life.

“Comcast understands the critically important role that digital skills play in accelerating career opportunities. This grant helps set our youth up for success both in and out of the classroom, and will strengthen our ability to support the next generation of leaders.” said Jermane Duncan, Executive Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware’s Western Sussex Branch.

The grant was announced at an event in Seaford, Delaware. It was part of Comcast’s volunteer program called “Team UP,” which encourages employees to give back to the community all year long.

At the event, Delaware’s Governor Matt Meyer and Seaford Mayor Matt MacCoy highlighted Comcast’s investment. MacCoy, who used to attend the Boys & Girls Club himself, said this donation will give kids the tools they need to succeed.

Comcast employees also served dinner to over 100 club members as part of the Hunt.Fish.Feed. program by the Sportsman Channel, which helps raise awareness about hunger in the U.S.

Comcast continues to expand its services across Delaware, including providing internet to over 2,600 homes that didn’t have it before, especially in rural areas.
