Fishing Tournament

DELAWARE – Children across Delaware will have the chance to compete for trophies and learn about conservation during the 39th Annual Youth Fishing Tournament, hosted by Delaware Natural Resources Police on Saturday, June 7.

The event is open to children ages 4 to 15 and will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine, at public ponds in each county. Event locations include Blockhouse Pond in Lewes, Akridge Scout Reservation near Dover and Lums Pond near Bear. Entry is free, but participants must register by Friday, May 23.

According to officials, tournament officials will weigh fish onsite to determine top catches by age group and county. An overall state winner will also be named. Trophies will be presented during the Delaware State Fair in July.
