DOVER, Del.- Right now, preparation is underway for the annual Firefly Festival in Dover. The four day event normally held in the summer, was postponed to September.
This years headliners are expected to bring in big crowds. The lineup is full of performers and Grammy Award winning artists. The festival sees four days of singing and dancing, along with shopping, a silent disco, and even a drag brunch. But with big crowds, come extra COVID pre-cautions.
This year, festival goers must bring proof of vaccination. If you're not vaccinated, you must bring proof of a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the festival.
Firefly is known for bringing people from all over the country to Dover. People with Southern Delaware Tourism tell us, guests come for the festival, and end up visiting all parts of the first state. Each year, Kent county sees a boom in visitors, and all three counties in Delaware see the economic benefits.
Firefly kicks off this Thursday with the first performance at 3.
