House Republican proposed ban on transgender restroom use in the Capitol aimed at Sarah McBride

Republican Rep. Nancy Mace, of South Carolina, introduced a resolution on Nov. 18 to ban transgender women from using female bathrooms in the Capitol, according to NBC.

On Wednesday, Speaker Mike Johnson said that he supports restricting “single-sex facilities” in the Capitol, including restrooms, to “individuals of that biological sex” says NBC - which would effectively ban the first transgender congresswoman, Rep.-elect Sarah McBride, from using women’s bathrooms.
