Seven solar farms up for discussion in Sussex County

SUSSEX COUNTY, Del.- Seven solar farms are back in front of Sussex County Council this week.

The farms go as far west as Delmar and east as Lewes. In September, neighbors told CoastTV they had concerns about the farms' proximity to property.

All seven Conditional Use applications were filed by Consolidated Edison, one of the largest energy companies in the United States. The proposed farms' sizes range depending on the property. Exact locations are as follows:

  • South of Kendale Road in Lewes
  • Lewes-Georgetown Highway in Harbeson
  • Near Old Sailor Road and Woodland Ferry Road near Laurel
  • South Main Street in Bridgeville
  • West Line Road in Delmar
  • Cast Rite Drive in Delmar
  • Old Crow Road in Delmar

Sussex County Council will have public hearings on the proposal at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday December 5th.
