Ukraine is accusing Hungary of detaining seven Ukrainian bank workers and seizing a major cash-and-gold shipment during a convoy trip across Hungary. On Thursday, Ukraine’s foreign minister said the employees of the state-owned Oschadbank went missing while traveling in two armored cars from Austria to Ukraine. Oschadbank says Hungarian authorities seized tens of millions in cash and several kilograms of gold. The bank says GPS data places the vehicles in central Budapest, near a law enforcement site. The incident deepens a feud between Ukraine and Hungary over Russian oil transit. On Friday, Hungary’s prime minister appeared to link the action to a pressure campaign on Ukraine to resume Russian pipeline shipments.
