At the town council meeting in Millsboro today, preliminary sight plans for a new Beebe healthcare facility were presented. In a unanimous vote the town council approved the proposed site plan.

MILLSBORO, Del. - Preliminary site plans for a new Beebe Healthcare facility were presented during the Millsboro Town Council meeting, where the council voted unanimously to approve the proposal.

Susan Schrek, who lives near the planned location, attended the meeting to understand how the facility might impact her neighborhood.

"I came to really see the physical location," Schrek continued. "I was concerned that it would be something I could see from my home. And as it turns out, it's not, so this is a good thing as far as I'm concerned," Schrek said.

Beebe Healthcare President and CEO Dr. David Tam said the approval is a step forward, but there's more work to be done.

"I will not be happy until we have the facility open and ready for patients so that we can provide that emergency room care and walk-in care, as well as medical office care for the people who live in this county," Tam said.

While more construction is expected throughout Sussex County, this particular project aims to improve access to medical services and save lives.
