DELAWARE- Heavy snow and wind put a lot of businesses on hold. But others are seeing a silver lining in the storm.
Ace Hardware in Lewes was at its busiest before the snow fell. The store now has empty shelves, and is completely sold out of shovels, salt, and sleds. The store is benefitting from the break in the snow, and using the time to restock.
In Dewey Beach, Woody's is unofficially named the "Emergency Headquarters". The restaurant saw a full house Saturday. Some hungry customers came on snowmobile and even skis, just to get out of the house and warm up with a crab cake or soup.
Waves Car Wash in Lewes is expecting its busiest day later this week. Drivers are already pulling in to get the salt washed off the car, but owner Mike Anthenelli says most people will wait until more snow has melted.
"Realistically, it's usually 2 to 3 days after a big snow storm and things get cleared out, that they really get busy," said Anthenelli.
He says if a car wash is not already on your to-do list, you should probably add it. The salt on the roads can wreak havoc on your car.
