Thousands flocked to Ocean City on Sunday for the final day of Springfest.

OCEAN CITY, Md. - Bands played, food vendors served, and shoppers browsed gift stands as thousands flocked to Ocean City on Sunday for the final day of Springfest.

The crowds brought a lively atmosphere — and little to no parking spaces — as hotels across the resort town reported being fully booked.

"We were completely sold out," said Megan Underwood, a front desk associate at the Residence Inn. "We have a bar and grill that made great revenue. I mean, they were so busy over there. We've been really, really booked."

Thousands of visitors were met by vendors eager to sell their goods at Springfest. Among them was Lucy Wirsching, owner of Art Sea, who creates makeshift boats out of driftwood and old pieces of Ocean City’s historic Boardwalk.

"Thursday, we were extremely busy," Wirsching said. "I sold a lot of large pieces, a lot of boardwalk boats. I went back to the hotel after the show ended at 8 p.m. and made more until 2 or 3 in the morning just to have enough stock available."

As Springfest wound down, visitors packed up and began heading home. But according to Underwood, the town won’t be quiet for long.

"It's pretty much a constant amount of events from here on out," she said. "We'll have a couple days where it's not as busy, but now that we have Cruisin' coming up and Bike Week after that, once May hits, we're just kind of slammed and always booked to the full."

If you missed the excitement of Springfest, Ocean City’s next big event — Cruisin' Ocean City — kicks off Thursday, May 1.
