Parents and families received the following message Tuesday:
This morning, our school received a report from a parent that a student may have a weapon.
Our teams located the student as they were entering the building on the way to class. The student was immediately stopped and found in possession of a loaded weapon and knife.
This is all the information we have at the moment, but we wanted to make sure our families were immediately made aware.
We are actively working with Delaware State Police. We will share more details as soon as they become available.
Please know there is no current threat at the school. We want to thank the parent who reported the concern. We also must commend our school teams for their quick efforts today.
