REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - City Manager Taylour Tedder has declined a potential merit-based pay raise.

During a special meeting at City Hall on Monday, June 9 Rehoboth Beach Mayor Stan Mills announced that an agenda item proposing a merit salary increase for Tedder had been withdrawn at the city manager’s own request.

Like all Rehoboth Beach employees, Tedder is eligible for an annual performance-based salary increase of up to 3%. However, he opted not to accept the raise this year.

Mayor Mills said Tedder’s decision was aimed at "goodwill in the community."

Some locals view the move as a sign of Tedder’s commitment to the city.

"I do believe that he's in it for the long term and wants to create some goodwill," said Rehoboth Beach resident Mike Shermer. "Good for him."

Tedder currently earns $250,000 annually a figure that previously sparked criticism from locals and even led to a Freedom of Information Act complaint.
