Georgetown Crash

Police say the man walked into the northbound lanes of Dupont Boulevard, just north of West North Street, where he was struck by a Chevrolet truck.

GEORGETOWN, Del. - Scott Kerin, a 39-year-old man from Georgetown, was identified as the victim who died after being hit by a truck early in the morning April 22 on Dupont Boulevard, prompting a joint investigation by Georgetown Police and Delaware State Police.

The deadly crash happened around 4:57 a.m. that Tuesday. Police say the man walked into the northbound lanes of Dupont Boulevard, just north of West North Street, where he was struck by a Chevrolet truck.

The driver, a 62-year-old man from Lewes, and his passenger, a 42-year-old woman also from Lewes, were not hurt.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed for about three hours as investigators worked at the scene.
