Marcus Harris was taken into custody without incident at a home on the 24000 block of Rivers Edge Drive around 2 a.m., troopers said. When troopers arrived at the scene, they found 19-year-old Andree’ Mosley Jr. of Ellendale suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to provide medical aid, Mosley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mosley was a football player and graduate of Cape Henlopen High School. School Board membe Patty Maull said in a Facebook post Monday, "We lost a student to gun violence, a young life full of potential, gone far too soon. No words can truly ease the pain, but we can come together in love, support, and action."

Two other men were also found outside the home with gunshot injuries and were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.

According to investigators, the three victims were visiting a female resident who knew both Harris and Mosley. An argument between the woman and Mosley escalated, and she reportedly asked the men to leave. A physical altercation broke out between Harris and Mosley, during which Harris shot him, police said. Harris then allegedly fired at the other two men. The woman was not injured.

Harris was charged with first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to the Department of Corrections on a $480,000 cash bond.

There will be support available, in conjunction with Capes Pathways Program, at the Slaughter Neck Community Center on Tuesday, June 17 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., according to Maull.
