WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. — The Salisbury Police Department is teaming up with multiple Wicomico County law enforcement agencies to launch a cash reward program aimed at cracking down on illegal dirt bike and ATV activity across the county.

The initiative, announced in collaboration with the Fruitland, Delmar and Pittsville police departments, Maryland State Police, the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, and the State’s Attorney’s Office, offers rewards for tips that lead to the confiscation of unregistered or illegally operated off-road vehicles.

Operating dirt bikes and ATVs on public roads in Maryland without registration violates state law and may result in citations or the seizure of the vehicle, says the mayor's office. Authorities emphasize that these illegal activities pose serious dangers to drivers and pedestrians alike, creating the potential for crashes, injuries and deadly consequences.

As part of the effort, Wicomico County residents are encouraged to report locations where illegal dirt bikes or ATVs are being stored. Tips can be submitted by calling 443-359-3546. Those who witness illegal riding activity can fill out a report through an online survey.
