DELMARVA - Summer may be winding down, but lifeguards will remain on duty at several beaches across Delmarva through Labor Day and, in some communities, well into September.
Here is a beach-by-beach look at where and when lifeguards are scheduled to be on duty.
Lewes
Savannah Beach and Johnnie Walker Beach in Lewes will have lifeguards from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 1-4. Weekend lifeguard coverage is scheduled to continue through Sept. 27.
Dewey Beach
Dewey Beach lifeguards are scheduled to be on duty from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Labor Day.
Cape Henlopen State Park
Lifeguards at Cape Henlopen State Park are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Labor Day.
Delaware Seashore State Park
Delaware Seashore State Park will have lifeguards from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Labor Day.
Deauville Beach
Deauville Beach lifeguards are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Labor Day.
North Shores
North Shores will have lifeguards on duty from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Labor Day.
Rehoboth Beach
Rehoboth Beach lifeguards are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends and Labor Day. Limited lifeguard coverage is expected to continue through Sept. 20.
Bethany Beach
Bethany Beach lifeguards will be on duty from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 1-4. After that, lifeguards are scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends through Sept. 27.
South Bethany
South Bethany lifeguards are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends through Labor Day.
Fenwick Island State Park
Lifeguards at Fenwick Island State Park are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Labor Day.
Fenwick Island
Fenwick Island lifeguards are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 1-7. Weekend coverage is expected to continue through Sept. 27, depending on lifeguard availability.
Ocean City
Ocean City lifeguards are scheduled to patrol from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily through Sept. 27. For the week of Aug. 31 through Sept. 6, lifeguard stands are expected to be placed about every 10 blocks from South Division Street to 142nd Street, depending on lifeguard availability.
Assateague State Park
Assateague State Park in Maryland will have lifeguards from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Labor Day.
Assateague Island National Seashore Virginia District
The Virginia District of Assateague Island National Seashore is scheduled to have lifeguards from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and on Labor Day.
