The nor’easter that swept through Delmarva over the weekend took a bite out of Delaware’s coastline.
Construction near Thompson Island in the Rehoboth Bay includes installation of 400 wave attenuation devices to protect the fragile ecosystem and shoreline. Each device weighs 2,600 pounds.
The group observed areas affected by coastal erosion and went to see ongoing replenishment efforts supported by $8.1 million in combined state and federal funding.
