It was a frosty start across Delmarva this morning with temperatures in the 30s and 40s. The chill comes courtesy of surface high pressure anchored over eastern Canada, which will continue to control the weather through the weekend.
High pressure sliding offshore is creating a warmer flow for Delmarva to end the weekend, along with wall to wall sunshine.
A strong high pressure system will settle over the Northeast on Saturday, extending its influence across Delmarva. This will bring a mostly to partly sunny sky with dry conditions inland, although onshore flow may increase cloud cover near coastal communities.
Summer temperatures will stick around into a part of the weekend, with a few showers and storms possible Saturday evening. A cooler and cloudier Sunday is expected.
High pressure will dominate the region into early Thursday, keeping conditions dry and pleasant. Daytime highs will top out in the upper 70s and 80s, while overnight lows fall into the 50s and 60s.
