Gardeners and flower enthusiasts gathered early Saturday to take part in a beloved tradition: the Tulip Dig, signaling the conclusion of the 16th annual Lewes Tulip Celebration.

Organized by Lewes in Bloom, the event invited the community to bring their own shovels, trowels, baskets or bags to dig up tulips from the festival’s vibrant displays for free, beginning promptly at 8 a.m.
