Police say Markis Leonard drove away from an attempted traffic stop on May 1, leading officers on a chase.

MILLSBORO, Del. - The Millsboro Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a man who ran from officers after allegedly causing a dangerous crash in a construction zone.

Police say Markis Leonard drove away from an attempted traffic stop on May 1, leading officers on a chase. While fleeing, Leonard reportedly sped through an active construction area, hit a pedestrian and crashed into another car with people inside.

Investigators say Leonard kept driving after the crash and has not been found since.

He is now wanted on multiple charges, including:

  • Disregarding a police officer signal

  • Two counts of reckless endangering

  • Leaving the scene of a crash

  • Aggressive driving

  • Unreasonable speed

  • Failure to stop at a stop sign
