MILLSBORO, Del. - The Millsboro town council is met at 7 p.m. on Tuesday to discuss a number of things, including a report from the police department and the TidalHealth committee.
There was a public hearing and the meeting was open to the public for comment.
Police Chief Brian Calloway gave a report on House Bill 206 which was passed last year by Governor Carney. The bill allows for more communication from the community to the police department.
"One of the most beneficial thing that will come from this is people will have a person they can contact if they have a question," Calloway said. "So oftentimes people may have a question, but maybe they just don't know who to contact, or how to contact. This will give an opportunity once every quarter for folks from the public to actually ask questions to our police agency."
Millsboro Mayor Kimberly Kaan is also optimistic about the new committee.
"I think any time we get increased communication with our community and the town, and by extension, the police it can only benefit us all," Kaan said.
