Grove Park canal dock

City officials in Rehoboth Beach are considering options to address structural issues at the Grove Park canal dock, closed due to safety concerns. Options include monitoring, maintenance, rebuilding, or demolishing the dock.

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - City officials in Rehoboth Beach are weighing multiple options to address structural issues at the Grove Park canal dock, which have been closed  where signs of instability have raised safety and usability concerns.

The dock, constructed in 2021 as a pedestrian connection along the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal, is now showing visible wear, including eroding walls and unstable slopes.

Options under review range from short-term monitoring and maintenance to completely rebuilding or demolishing the dock.

Rehoboth Beach officials told CoastTV that a new analysis of the Grove Park canal dock was conducted on June 30, and the results are expected to be reviewed at an upcoming meeting.

City officials expect to receive more information in the coming days, with further discussion likely at future meetings.
