GEORGETOWN, Del. — Sussex Technical High School students recently teamed up with Delaware State Parks to plant over 800 native trees at a site managed by Trap Pond State Park.

Earlier this month, 21 students from Sussex Tech’s Landscape Management and Environmental Technologies program worked alongside AmeriCorps volunteers to complete the tree planting project. Each sapling was supported with a locally harvested bamboo stake and a protective sleeve to prevent wildlife grazing.

The project aims to address erosion issues on the agricultural field while contributing to the park’s environmental conservation efforts.
