In a message to families Monday afternoon, a student of Milford Central Academy brought a gun in their book bag to the school and shared a photo of it on social media.

MILFORD, Del. - In less than a week, a second gun has been found in a Milford school. An unloaded gun was confiscated from a student in the district on June 2.

In a message to families Monday afternoon, a student of Milford Central Academy brought a gun in their book bag to the school and shared a photo of it on social media. A different student reported seeing the picture online and alerted staff.

The statement says the Milford Police Department and the school district are now actively investigating the incident.

"We commend the student who spoke up and remind all students and families that if they see something, they should say something. We will continue to take every measure to ensure the safety of our students and staff." said the school district in the message to parents and staff.

Meanwhile, on May 30, a 21-year-old in the high school parent pickup line dropped a gun while getting out of his car. Police said when he attempted to put the gun back in his waistband, a student saw the gun fall and reported it to staff.
