A woman from Delaware and a woman from Maryland were hurt after a car crash on Coastal Highway Thursday night, June 5.

The Ocean City Police Department has identified a pedestrian who was struck by a car and ran off early Monday morning on Coastal Highway.

According to police, no one inside the coffee shop was injured, and the driver was also unhurt.

A concrete truck overturned on Coastal Highway in Lewes after speeding into a turn lane, leading to a traffic citation and road closure.

Police said Work evaded multiple attempts to stop him, at one point riding south on the northbound shoulder of Coastal Highway.

The Minos Conaway Project will soon be underway with new traffic changes that DelDOT says will increase safety. This includes three roundabouts.

Dewey Beach has officially broken ground on a $11.4 million project to build a new town hall, police station, and EMS facility. Construction is set to begin on May 5.

In response to concerns of speeding and safety, new speed limit signs along  Coastal Highway have been put up, reducing speed limits to 50 mph or lower, aiming to prevent accidents involving pedestrians and bicyclists.

DelDOT is rolling out speed limit changes along Coastal Highway from Dewey Beach to the Delaware/Maryland state line, with the first changes already in effect between Dewey Beach and Fred Hudson Road as of April 21.

Protestors lined up along route one on Saturday. From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., they cheered, they waved flags and for those who couldn't join, they honked their car horns as they drove by.
