Get ready for another unsettled weekend weatherwise. A stalled out front will be the focus for showers and storms throughout the weekend. Have a plan B for Dad with rain in the forecast for Sunday.

Occasional showers continue this afternoon, with an onshore flow keeping temperatures cooler with highs mainly in the 60s. Some low 70s are possible at some inland spots this afternoon. Winds will gust up to 20 mph at times from the southeast, making it feel a bit cooler.

High pressure retreating eastward will give way to a series of weather systems affecting the Delmarva Peninsula later tonight. Clouds will dominate the skies, with light showers and drizzle moving in this evening. After a mild and wet start to the week, temperatures will rise to the upper 50s to 60 degrees Monday through midweek, bringing dry conditions before another round of rain arrives late Wednesday into Thursday.

The Delaware River Basin Commission has declared a water supply emergency and issued special permits to coordinate reservoir operations and protect water resources amid ongoing rainfall deficits. These measures aim to address potential drought conditions, by aligning with state drought responses and increasing water conservation across the region.
