Sussex Tech High School

The School Resource Officer at the high school was alerted by school staff to a marijuana smell emanating from a student's car. The student was engaged in a class project involving work on his car at the time. Upon searching the vehicle, staff found marijuana and drug paraphernalia, said DSP.

GEORGETOWN, Del. - Sussex Technical High School is hosting an eighth grade open house on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the school on Route 9 in Georgetown. Interested eighth graders in Sussex County who would like to learn more about the school's technical areas, academics, sports and additional extracurriculars are invited to attend.

Sussex Tech offers 17 career and technical education programs and work-based learning opportunities for seniors in areas like carpentry, automotive specialties, dental services, media broadcasting and more. Students enrolled at the school can also take advanced placement and dual enrollment courses.

Delaware's school choice application period opens on Nov. 6 and closes on Jan. 10, 2024. Staff will be onsite to assist with school application completion.
