The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration’s Highway Safety Office announced it will distribute $12.9 million in federal highway safety grants to 96 organizations across the state. The initiative is part of Maryland’s continued efforts to prevent car crashes and eliminate roadway deaths.

Nearly 800 students gathered at the University of Delaware for the Delaware TSA State Leadership Conference, showcasing their STEM skills through competitions and workshops. Sussex County schools excelled, with Indian River High earning top-three placements in 15 events and several other schools claiming first-place awards. Two local educators were also honored as Advisors of the Year for their leadership in STEM.

Runners, walkers and families are invited to the 20th annual Tim Kennard River Run, set for Sunday, March 2. The event features a 10-mile race, a 5K run/walk and a 5K noncompetitive "DOG" walk, all starting and finishing at Salisbury Bible Fellowship.
