A police pursuit tied to a theft investigation escalated into a crash, a carjacking and a drug-related search Saturday afternoon.

A Georgetown woman is facing multiple charges after she led police on a low-speed pursuit through the Long Neck area that ended when she jumped into Rehoboth Bay, according to Delaware State Police.

Delaware State Police pursued a car linked to a shoplifting case at the Rehoboth Beach outlets on Wednesday. Troopers are still working to find the suspects.
