The Delaware Department of Transportation announced that the North Millsboro Bypass is open to cars.

DelDOT officials notify motorists that Pettyjohn Road will be closed between Gravel Hill Road, Route 30, and Prettyman Road. The closure is scheduled to start on Sept. 15 at 7 a.m., and should reopen on Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. DelDOT says the road is to be closed for, "a horizontal jack and bore for an offsite water main."

According to the DELDOT, the new construction plan for the intersection of SR 1 and Holland Glade Road near the outlets of Lewes and Rehoboth, is set to begin on Sept. 8.

Flooding from Hurricane Erin has prompted multiple road closures in Ocean City and coastal Delaware as dangerous weather conditions continue to affect the region.

Devon Road at Mill Pond Acres will permanently close as part of DelDOT’s Route 1 safety project. No local detour will be in place and the department recommends drivers should plan alternate routes.

Lanes on Holland Glade Road in Rehoboth Beach, will be closed for construction from June 16 to July 16.

Early Tuesday morning, November 27, a dump truck traveling southbound on I-95 hit the Route 141 northbound bridge while its bed was raised. 

Drivers in Rehoboth Beach should prepare for road closures in early December as the city hosts two major events: the Hometown Christmas Parade and the Rehoboth Beach Seashore Marathon. Temporary road restrictions will affect various areas during these events.

Due to the Rehoboth Beach fireworks festivities on July 6, there will be parking restrictions and road closures during the event.
